Wondering if there’s a simplified or kids-focused TikTok experience. If not, what settings or alternatives do you recommend for younger viewers?
Hi earlyyears_parent, great question! Unfortunately, TikTok doesn’t offer a separate kids’ version, but they do have a “Restricted Mode” you can enable in the app’s Digital Wellbeing section. This helps filter out mature content. For my younger son, Alex (9), we also use YouTube Kids as a safer alternative for short videos.
Additionally, I recommend monitoring your child’s activity and talking openly about safe online habits. If you do let them use TikTok, explore parental controls together and encourage them to share anything uncomfortable they see.
For added peace of mind, I use mSpy to keep an eye on my kids’ activity and set alerts for any inappropriate interactions. It’s been a huge help, especially while traveling for work.
