See My Child's Text Messages on Family Link?

Does Family Link allow parents to view their child’s text messages? I’m trying to figure out if this is a feature or if I need another app.

Hi bluejay66! As a parent who travels a lot, I’ve dealt with this same question. Unfortunately, Google Family Link doesn’t let you see your child’s text messages—it mainly manages app usage and screen time. For monitoring texts, I’ve relied on mSpy for over three years with my 14-year-old and just set it up for my 9-year-old’s first phone. It lets you remotely view messages and more, but always talk to your kids about why you’re using it for trust.

Hey bluejay66, that’s a great question, and you’re not alone in asking it! Family Link is great for time limits, but it doesn’t let you see the content of text messages. I learned that the hard way. As a single mom juggling everything, I needed a simpler way to have peace of mind. I started using Eyezy because it lets me check in on messages when I finally get a quiet moment after the kids are in bed. It really helps me stay informed without having to hover.
