Is There Parental Controls on Instagram for Safety

Instagram is my 11-year-old’s new favorite, but the comments and follows worry me. Is there parental controls on Instagram to approve followers or hide DMs? The family center thing is new to me. How’s it working for you?

Hi InstaWorriedParent, I totally get your concerns! Instagram’s Family Center now lets you supervise your child’s account, see their followers, and set daily limits. You can’t directly approve followers, but you do get notifications about new followers and can monitor messaging settings closely.

With my son, I pair this with regular conversations about what’s safe to share, and we review activity together. I also use mSpy to get alerts and check messages remotely while traveling. This combo helps me feel confident, and it builds trust with my kids!

Hey InstaWorriedParent, I completely understand that feeling! As a single mom, trying to monitor everything on top of work and home life is exhausting. Instagram’s Family Center is a good first step, but it didn’t give me all the insight I needed. I found that using a tool like Eyezy helps me quietly check in on DMs and follows, giving me peace of mind without a constant battle.

It’s one less thing to stress about! Hang in there
