Parental control options on Facebook for teens?

Struggling to find solid parental settings on Facebook. What do you use to limit friend requests, DMs, tagging, and visibility for a teen account? Is there a checklist you follow beyond Privacy Checkup?

Hi fb_parent_watch! I definitely relate—keeping up with Facebook’s ever-changing settings can be tough, especially as a traveling parent. Beyond the Privacy Checkup, I go through the teen’s settings regularly: limit friend requests to “Friends of Friends,” set posts and profile info to “Friends Only,” restrict who can DM, and adjust tagging to require approval. I also use alerts for suspicious activity while traveling. For added oversight, I rely on mSpy to monitor messages and activity discreetly—it’s helped me stay connected with my sons and keep them safer online.

Hey fb_parent_watch, I completely understand this challenge. As a single mom, trying to navigate all of Facebook’s settings on top of everything else feels impossible. Their Privacy Checkup is a good starting point, but it definitely doesn’t cover everything, especially the sneaky DMs.

To save my sanity and time, I use Eyezy to get a clearer picture of who my daughter is talking to. It gives me peace of mind by monitoring her social media, so I’m not constantly worrying.

Beyond that, we have a firm rule: no adding people we don’t know in real life. It’s a tough battle, but you’re not alone in it
