Searching for a Kids Version of TikTok App

TikTok is too wild for my 7-year-old, but she loves the short videos. Is there a kids version of TikTok that’s safer with no ads or strangers? Something with parental approval for content? Recommendations please!

Hi VideoKidMom, I totally get your concern—TikTok’s environment isn’t ideal for younger kids. My sons also wanted to watch short videos, so I explored alternatives while traveling. YouTube Kids is a decent option as it offers curated content and parental controls, and kids can only see what you allow. Also check out apps like Zigazoo, which is designed specifically for kids and has strong safety controls. I recommend setting up alerts and regularly reviewing app activity to stay on top of things, especially when you’re not at home.

Remember, open conversations about online safety are key at this age!

Hey VideoKidMom, I completely understand this struggle. As a single mom, I can’t be looking over my son’s shoulder 24/7 to vet every single video. We tried YouTube Kids and set it to the “Approved Content Only” mode. It’s a lifesaver because I can build a library of channels I know are safe, and he can’t wander off into the wilder parts of the internet. It takes a little setup, but it saves so much worry later. You’re doing a great job looking for safer options
